its
hard to write an english review for the first time... so
at the beginning, let me just say: sorry.
the
only reason i´m writing an english text into an
small german partymag is, that there is a possibility
that someone without german speech knowlegde could see
the pics and wonders, what the text might mean.
so i
just give an short version of the evening. the folks here
are dj jay and dj franky. two german regional djs from
around the city of jena and weimar. they did the intro
and warmup, as well as the outro.
gus
gus started playing 1´o clock. good time, cause
the dancefloor was fully packed!
the
introducing of gus gus as an act, is written down on the
gusgus
homepage.
so, please excuse, that i´m a little bit lazy in
that way. :)
gus gus
already been here in thuringia and east germany two
times. on time at sonnemondsterne
festival 2003
and otherwise last year at the melt-festival
2005
in gräfenhainichen! they improved, that they are
very able to translate the energie of there cds into an
live-gig! click the links or the pics for more
information (unfortunatly in german...).
the man
here in that ananas-suite is the dj of today. as somekind
of frontman of gus gus, he presents the gus gus - sound
tonight! as the name of the club here in the past meant
OGS (O = Obst/Fruits, G = Gemüse/Vegetable, S =
Speisekartoffeln/Potatoe), you can see, that there is a
proper connection to the dj tonight and we are very sad,
that the ananas-suite was missing tonight.
after
all we heard a good set, which had its highs and lows, as
a good set always has. if it was getting to rhythmic, the
dj always tuned in some warm strings or melodies, so the
crowd always was entertained as good as possible. best
moment in my opinion was the track "david" from gus gus
themselves, cause the crowd went totally crazy on that. i
guess its the most popular song in germanies clubs from
gus gus at time!
apropo
pop, the set had a proper pop-component, which is meant
in an good way.
so
after all i would say we had loads of fun and i´m
closing with an quotation from gusgus homepage: an
evening "... hard to make, but easy to listen" and dance
to!
in that
sense, i still have last night in my body...
